Also included is material relating to his civic and social activities in Washington, D.C., his work as assistant to Ainsworth R. Ainsworth Rand Spofford (September 12, 1825 – August 11, 1908) was an American journalist and the sixth Librarian of Congress. Spofford was born in Gilmanton, New Hampshire.
